The San Francisco city has the typical Mediterranean climate of the California with dry summer spell and wet winters. In spite of being surrounded by the water bodies on three sides, the climate in the city is influenced strongly by the cold currents of the Pacific Ocean which has a moderating influence on the climate and thereby produces mild climate with only a slight seasonal temperature variations.
The city of San Francisco has seen snowfall very rarely with only ten such incidents been recorded so far. During early summer and spring, the western portion of the city is mostly covered by fog caused by the combination of the cold ocean water and the city’s high heat.
The city of San Francisco has beautiful beach which runs along the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean. The water is not suitable for swimming because of the deadly water currents. The city is well known for its culture and heritage and has amazing performing and entertaining art museums and centers. The public transportation in the city is excellent. But many people in the city prefer cycling for commuting to work.
